Why get an Apple Macintosh over a Microsoft Windows computer?

Less Spyware Threats

Less Virus Threats

More Reliable

Easier to Use

Simpler

If already a long term user of a Mac and do not need the features of a PC, choose a Mac.

Regardless of what any sales person may tell you in order to sell a Windows computer at low cost---The Microsoft Windows operating system is highly targeted by computer spyware, hacking tools and viruses.

Microsoft is the bull's-eye for developers of spyware and viruses where Apple in comparison is not touched.

The spyware and viruses can be dealt with when using a Microsoft PC by running complex security software of which requires repeated updates and is almost guaranteed to fail.

Further, the installation of multiple layers of security software such as SpyBot Search and Destroy, Spyware Blaster, Norton Internet Security, places excessive overhead on the PC.  This can dramatically slow down everything you do on the computer.

Unless not absolutely needed---current recommendations are to not purchase a Microsoft Windows PC over an Apple Macintosh computer.

The Mac is currently the most cost effective, easiest to use and reliable computer on the market and will likely remain that way for---the road ahead.

The only exception to this over using a PC, is that for the money, a Microsoft Windows PC provides more raw computing power over a Mac and is more compatible with available software.

A Mac with the same computing power (including software and internal peripherals), will cost 2 to 3 times as much as a Microsoft Windows PC...Compare what an HP PhotoSmart Media Center PC can do with a Mac and then compare the price!  Currently, there is no way a Mac can do everything a fully loaded Microsoft Media Center PC can do.

Yet a Mac, is immune to many of the computer viruses of which cripple a Microsoft PC.

Working between a Mac and a PC can be difficult at times and impossible in certain cases.  There are ways to ease these difficults through using either or both Virtual PC for Mac and Timbuktu Pro (see below).

Powerful Applications for the Mac
